You want to be seen, heard, and understood by someone who gets it, it’s the fundamentals to mental wellness; it is not an optional experience. Finding the proper therapist requires more than credentials; it also requires a sense of connection. Cultural awareness is crucial for many people, particularly for people of color.
At ALL IN Therapy Clinic, we believe that feeling fully seen is the first step toward recovery. With a foundation of cultural humility and empowerment, our team of BIPOC therapists, including Black, Arab, and Pacific Islander mental health providers facilitates inclusive therapy for clients of color in Minnesota. We offer culturally relevant therapy and psychiatry for patients of color, whether in-person or online, with care that produces tangible outcomes. We’re not just diverse on paper—we’re committed to inclusive, intersectional mental health care that supports you as a whole person.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Traditional mental health systems often overlook the unique needs of Black, African American, Arab, Pacific Islander and other BIPOC communities. And while representation matters, it can still be difficult to find a culturally aligned therapist. For example; In Minnesota, only 3 percent of therapists identify as Black.
A provider of color can relate to your lived experience in ways others may not. Because of this, it might be quite helpful to locate a therapist of color. There will be less explaining and more healing.

In short: because you may value having a therapist from that cultural background. Trust is the bedrock of good care, and shared experiences can cultivate trust. Collaborating with an individual who comprehends your heritage creates a secure environment, whether you are in search of racial trauma therapy, identification support, or assistance in overcoming cultural obstacles.

Beliefs and cultural practices are fundamental to your identity and should not be treated as side topics. In order to provide inclusive therapy for clients of color that is based on understanding rather than assumption, our therapists respect cultural and spiritual beliefs.
Things that may seem foreign, or even pathologized by clinicians outside of a particular culture may be viewed differently and with more understanding by a clinician from that same culture. Further, sometimes clients may feel more comfortable working with a clinician of the same cultural background, making the therapeutic experience more positive.

Yes. You can better navigate racial trauma therapy with the help of a culturally sensitive therapist. It can be very vulnerable to open up and discuss racial trauma. This is why it is important that clients feel safe in order to do so. Often, clients feel more comfortable discussing these matters with a therapist that looks like them. Plus, therapists that may have experienced racial trauma of their own may be able to ask better questions, or possess better insight, than therapists that have not.

Yes. The impact of high-functioning anxiety on minority groups is something that our BIPOC therapists are well aware of. While each client’s experience is different and unique, BIPOC therapists have a certain clinical and personal understanding and awareness that they can bring to their clinical work. Just because a therapist is of the same cultural or racial background does not mean that the therapist is best for you. However, we at ALL IN are aware that, for some clients, they have a strong preference for clinicians of a similar background and we honor and respect that.
The various communities we serve are reflected in the staff of mental health professionals at ALL IN Therapy Clinic. Despite only 3% of all therapists being BIPOC, the racial makeup of ALL IN clinicians is significantly more racially, culturally, and ethnically diverse, which better represents the communities we serve. This reflects the safe and comfortable environment at ALL IN for both staff and clients of color.

Here at ALL IN Therapy Clinic, we understand that Arab, Muslim, and Middle Eastern groups have specific mental health requirements. Emotional health is as important as physical health, however many of these cultures view treatment and psychiatry with stigma. Establishing welcoming communities free from stigma is our top priority.
Throughout your recovery journey, our culturally sensitive therapists—which includes professionals who speak Urdu, Bengla, and Hindi—will respect your beliefs, family relationships, and cultural values. We offer empathetic support that is tailored to your unique circumstances, whether you are dealing with generational expectations, trauma, or issues around your identity.
